Do I have to quit or be fired if employer won’t accommodate doctor reduced days of work due to mental illness

Employers are required to accommodate an employee with medically confirmed limitations up to the point of undue hardship. If your employer is refusing to accommodate you, it could be a Human Rights discrimination issue.

If you resigned you would forfeit your right to severance pay. If your employer did terminate you, that would also give rise to discrimination issues and they would also be obligated to pay severance.
