Partner reported hours for me that i did not work, told him to go ahead not thinking. reported this incident too head office before the paperwork was even handed in. can they fire me for time theft?

Thank you for your question.

If you are guilty of time theft it could be just cause for dismissal. However, if you tried to have the hours revoked before they were submitted, it would likely show that you did not do it intentionally. If that is the case, then you would likely be entitled to damages for wrongful dismissal. Those damages could be significant. Your limitation will expire two years from the date of your notice of termination, so make sure not to wait on this.
