My boss just fired me because he said that he had gotten a complaint from a customer saying that they thought they could smell weed when they walked past my yard car. This happened on a Thursday and my boss didn't say anything to me at all until 12am Monday morning and told me that because that customer thinks he could smell it that day and my boss seems to think I smelt like weed that day that he is going to have to fire me because it's a health and safety concern. I even told him that I wasn't smoking weed at work and I wouldn't smoke weed at work but he still told me not to come in today. Can he legally fire me just because someone said they thought they could smell weed I do smoke it but not at work and I work outside at a scrap yard so the smell could have came from anywhereI was fired after only a week because I apparently breached the contract between me and my employer. However I cannot understand how I did that. I was hired as an accounts manager and was told I may eventually have some photography and videography shoots. This was mentioned in my contract however never did it say anything about me using my own equipment. When I tried to discuss this with my employer I was fired for breaching the contract even though there was nothing in it at all about using my equipment. Is this fair? In the meantime I invested time and money into this new position as well as gave up my previous job which was my main source of income and had lots of opportunity. My partner and a co-worker were brought into their manager's office today and were told that they were being suspended without pay (not in their contract) based on activity that occurred on Friday. That "activity" was reported to the RCMP and they will apparently contact my partner and his co-worker in the following week. HR will also reach out to them. My partner and his colleague are confused as to what joint activity is being referred to, as they both work in separate parts of the company. The company is an environmental waste company that is known to violate regulations. My partner and colleague are very young and both have the same start date, they have only been working there for 4 months. Is this something the RCMP would get involved in? Is this constructive dismissal? Is this a way to terminate without notice?I was terminated without cause from a senior management rold in Ottawa. A small business. I was employed there 7 months. The termination was without cause, I know I am entitled to more. How much should I expect? Age is over 60, I move from Kitchener to Ottoawa for the role. When you get your roe to go on ei medical leave and after they thought you quit even though you did not quit and had no vacation pay to cover yourself for mental health problems I have all documents and emails even my roe said unknown on when I will be back did not say I quit what do I do???
