Hello, I was just laid off of my job March 24th, I went in to work expecting to cover my shift when my Manager and Employer asked to meet with me, I was than told I was losing my job, and would no longer be required to work there. I have been working there for the past 7 months, way past my probation time. The reasoning for laying me off was due to lack of business, however I was the only employee being let go, from a 7 employee staff. Was I wrongfully dismissed from my job? What would be my next steps?Hello, i was in a sub management position at a security company working 24 hours a week on the weekends, (12 hour shifts on saturday and sunday). I was contacted 3 days before a shift and was told that they had found a replacement for my position. i was not given any notice at all nor was i told that i violated any rules. I was not terminated from the company but my hours were reduced to zero with only 3 days notice and was not given the chance to find anything else. is there anything i can do about it? i am put in a tough financial spot because of this. i was using my weekdays to obtain other skills and was depending on this position to support myself.I have been on WCB in Alberta for 7 months on an injury . I was just cleared to go back to work and was layed off . I reside in Ontario and work in AlbertaI just started a job with Pinnacle Catering where I went through two hour long interviews and an orientation. To which I was hired and everything seemed good. Then all of a sudden after my first days work my boss called me 30 minutes before my shift and told me he needs to hear back from the insurance. I am a new driver and he knew this as I have the ad saved off indeed and it was for a G2 class driver. He then belittled me and got aggressive on the phone pretty much interrogating me about my previous driving history as I do not own my own car and thus have no insurance history. I borrowed my mother’s car to go in for that one day. He was belittling me for not being insured myself and proclaiming I lied to him when I had never claimed it was my car nor that I was insured. He then contacted me and told me I am not coverable by his insurance because they require 3 years experience. But then went on calling me a liar and not taking any fault for his own mistake. This caused me to have a panic attack, I live with generalized anxiety disorder and am diagnosed for such. He has caused me a lot of grief and worry now because I turned down other jobs in between. He is not owning up to his mistake and has claimed he will be paying me for one day while telling me he “never hired me in the first place.” Despite the fact that I worked a full day and did the orientation. What can I do?I was terminated from my job in February 11th 2019 without a reason. HR said they would send a letter in the mail outlining their reason for my termination, and I have yet to receive it. I have never been in trouble with the company (no verbal, write up or suspension), I have never been late, and when sick, I followed the guidelines and called in. And I was past my 90 probabtion period (I worked there just under 6 months). What can I do? Previous Next Page 106 of 712
