I was dismissed first thing this morning. No warning. They had hired back an old employee "to work along side me" on monday. I trained her. Then i was let go. Paper work that was given to me states that i was given notice on january 17 2020. I was not. Termination paperwork also states an old employees name and their termination date. Can i do anything?

I was hired for a position on Saturday, January 18. They emailed me on Sunday, January 19 and told me to come in tor training on Monday, January 20. I woke up with a fever and went to the hospital and advised that I had pneumonia. I emailed the owner and manager on Monday 8 hours prior to the shift explaining what was happening. This was for my training shift. I did not hear back. I emailed them on Tuesday and Wednesday to see if I could start over the weekend. They did not reply. Today (January 23) I called again about when my training shifts would start and the owner advised me that they had to hire someone else because they were in a bad spot on Monday. It doesn’t make sense because I was just scheduled for what was supposed to be a training shift on January 19 for January 20. I should have been considered extra staff and train and he made it sound like he had to hire someone else because I didn’t show up. I was very disappointed and did not understand how the owner could just take the job away so easily. I had a feeling this place was very disorganized as he cancelled and re-scheduled interview times on 4 occasions and when I came for my interview for 1 pm he looked surprise and said “I thought I told you 5 pm.” Very unfair how everything transpired. I let down another job opportunity because I was excited to be offered this job which is close to home.

I believe I’ve been wrongfully dismissed I am non union. I have 4.5 years seniority over an employee who only has one year. I had an injury at work. I’m still in physio for a transition period to be able to cope on my own soon. The new girl has been trained to be my payroll backup. She was hired full time to replace a maternity leave but was hired permanently. Mat leave will be back end of March. New girl is kept but I’ve been terminated and told that it is strictly due to operational costs. Therefore they have to redirect my work elsewhere.

I was recently dismissed (Tuesday) due to performance. Told nice lady and hard worker but can’t do the job. Received email outlying performance issues on Friday with a plan for me to perform then fired. Employer accidentally forward email to me indicating the decision to fire had been made on Thursday ahead Friday performance meeting and Monday termination. During Friday’s meeting I was not told it was a performance management plan. Only found out when email was sent to me on Friday night with a plan to improve. I didn’t get an opportunity to improve and stressed and worked through the whole weekend. Had good performance in November

I was dismissed because of attitude, my manager and I did have a disagreement on the phone which led to an exchange of works, which I immediately said I was in the wrong for, a month later while being laid off after completing a 1200 hour year they call me without written or verbal warning and say that I’m not returning because of my attitude, it is unionized but are they able to do this , the same manager has called me many times antagonizing me telling me to work and really only singled me out and says that I have to go back to work when everyone else was sitting waiting for the other contractors to complete, I only started having attitude towards the company after so many unfulfilled promises saying I would get an upgraded license, saying I would have work for the rest of my life, I don’t know what to do, should I take it to the ministry
