I have been awarded a settlement for a wrongful dismissal that occurre in 2013... I was paid out my full EI at the time. It’s now 2019 and I will be paid out this year, I am under the impression from research that I must pay back my EI received. I received 16k in EI and my settlement is for $180k. Would this payback occurred before or after tax?
