My chef says he thought I got payed. Therefore he needed to do a stop payment. Which I didn’t understand since I never received money. When brought up to him again, he says it should be here soon and says there was an issue therefore they had to stop payment. The last shift i missed was the Sunday before pay week on Friday so it does not make sense that they thought I already had my money. Can I get extra compensation for this, I have been waiting for this money as it is delaying certain bill payments.I’ve worked at a bar/restaurant since February 2016. We were told they were closing for renovations & Typed a paper to be signed by us saying ‘please be advised as of May 31 the restaurant will be closing to undergo renovations. Further details are to follow ‘ Their name &’had us sign it. I haven’t heard from them. See posts on Instagram that they are re opening June 14, found out from another comworker that they had a meeting June 11’going over the new menu &’employee handbook & I messaged my boss & no response & no invite to the staff meeting. One other employee who’s been employed over 4 years also didn’t get a call to the meeting. I believe thy fired me. What are my rights and would they owe me 2 weeks pay in lieu of notice plus 3’weeks severance pay. What are my legal rights? Never been written up or had a single complaint, never called in sick and always covered extra shifts. Worked approx 25-35 hours per weekI was recently hired as an underground miner for North American Palladium at a remote mine up by Thunder Bay.I had worked as a contract miner up there s year ago until I was hurt on the job,the next day was told I had a bad attitude and that my services were no longer needed.Fast track to a month ago,the actual company hired me,I worked there for a week and exceeded my expectations of work but all of a sudden was told I was fired because of what happened a year ago when I was a contractor.can they do this?I was fired without written or verbal notice due to missing a day of work to watch my father die out of town..also I was not given a reason for the firing..an also I work 9 consecutive hour shifts without a 30 minute free from work break...I have recently been wrongfully terminated. I had decided to settle as I didn't want to put a target on anyone who may be called at an arbitration. I had sent a number to the company to settle, but I just can't live with that. They have slandered me and fired me after leaving me 3 years with a manager that has harassed me to exhaustion. I was a senior member of the organization and I believe it was a contributing factor. Can you please tell me if I can change my mind after sending a settlement number to the company? Thank you. Previous Next Page 86 of 712
