Add Comment Question: I don't feel as though I can physically complete aspects of my current job and I am afraid if I tell my boss that I will be terminated. Can they terminate me Answer: Hello, and thank you for your question. If you require accommodation in the workplace due to your physical constraints, your employer has a duty to reasonably accommodate you in your employment. If your employer fires you due to your request for reasonable accommodation, this is a violation of the Ontario Human Rights Code. Therefore, in the event your employment is terminated, not only will you be entitled to severance, you will very likely be entitled to additional human rights damages as well. If you have physical limitations and/or restrictions in the work place, it is always best to get a note from your doctor which supports the fact that you have medical issues which require accommodation from your employer.
