Can they terminate me cause they thought i wasn't happy

Thank you for contacting our firm.

It depends on whether you were terminated “without cause” or “for cause”.

Employers may terminate someone without cause for any nondiscriminatory reason, so long as they provide proper notice or pay in lieu.

If your employer is attempting to terminate you for cause on the basis of your unhappiness, that would not be permitted.

If you were unhappy because of mental health issues, then it is also possible the termination could be discriminatory.
