A coworker was fired because she can’t speak English well enough. But there are other employees still employed with the same level of English skill still. What does she need to do to prove this was a wrongful termination? Or does our employer have the right to fire her because they don’t find her English skill good enough?

Your (former) coworker should speak with an employment lawyer right away. This may possibly be discrimination, and she would be owed severance. You can tell her to use our Ontario Severance Pay Calculator (www.severencepaycalculator.com) to find out how much she may be owed, and to give us a call at the number below.
