Can an employer use things found in your locker at work against you AFTER being terminated?

Thanks for your question. If employers discover misconduct after a termination, it may be used against an employee to substantiate an assertion of after-acquired cause. Conduct that is discovered after a termination and that could potentially justify an after-acquired cause termination can include the discovery of items in the employee's locker. When an employer asserts cause or after-acquired cause, it is important to have the situation reviewed by an employment lawyer because cause is very difficult for an employer to prove. If you have been terminated with or without cause, give us a call at the number below to find out what your rights are. We would be happy to help you however we can.
