I went for a job interview at another company. When I returned to work my boss had found out about it and got the supervisor to tell me I’m no longer needed.I was the lead mechanic in the shop and no guarantee I was getting the job I was interviewed for.Just wanted to know if he has the right to do that.

Hello, and thank you for your question.

It is quite possible that your demotion from Lead Mechanic amounts to the constructive dismissal of your employment. In turn, you would have a valid claim for wrongful dismissal and would be entitled to an adequate severance package. However, we would need more information from you to make this assessment.

Please call us at the number below if you wish to discuss your matter further.

Thanks
