Add Comment Question: Over a year ago, I was accused of crimes I did not commit, and my full time employer found out through a press release. Once I was released on bail, I was informed by my employer that I would be let go for 'just cause'. I also have a secondary employer which retained me, and agreed to place me on hold until the completion of my proceedings, at which point the result would decide their action. (I am now back at that employer). Now that my legal proceedings are completed, and I have been found not guilty, am I able to return to my full-time employer and get my job back? Am I in any position for any type of legal action that would benefit me? Regards, Robert Answer: Your employer cannot terminate you for cause for being charged with a crime, especially if the charges are ultimately withdrawn and/or you are found not guilty. Although you cannot get your job back, you are still entitled to a fair severance package based on your age, position, and length of employment. Please use the following link to determine your entitlements upon termination (www.severancepaycalculator.com/) and then contact us at the number below for a consultation with a lawyer to discuss your situation.
