I went to my supervisor and talked to her about these issues. I asked her for help thinking that we would have some sort of program in place. Pretty much in a nut shell she told me my only option was for them to lay me off. I dont want to lose my position or my seniority status, I was just asking for help. There was no offer to help. I would recommend that you approach your medical professional or treating physician and have a discussion with them about a potential a leave of absence and/or accommodation plan. If you are penalized for requesting either of those things, you would have a claim for human rights and potentially wrongful dismissal (if you are terminated). In that regard, kindly note the limitation period of one year for human rights claims and two years from the date of termination for wrongful dismissal claims.
