Add Comment Question: I was hired at tim hortons as a storefront hostess. I was asked to try a monday morning bake. I agreed to only do the one monday morning bake as i was scheduled. The next day i went into work and was told by the manager i was baking. The morning baker who was scheduled was there and capable of baking. I refused to do the bake as i was not scheduled. I was told to punch out and go home. So i did just that. When returning to work this morning for my 530am shift i was pulled in the office and terminated. Do i have a case? Answer: The law in Ontario is such that an employer may terminate you for any reason as long as that reason is not discriminatory and they provide you with a fair severance package. Please use the following link to determine your entitlements upon termination (severancepaycalculator.com/) and then contact us at the number below for a consultation with a lawyer to discuss your situation.
