• Facilities Manager a Kennedy Road Tabernacle – 1 of Brampton’s largest churches
• After being the best Facilities Manager my supervisors said they have ever seen.
• I had a slip and fall where I injured my back and wrist
• I was forced to use my personal vacation and sick time to recover from my injuries.
• While still working from home and managing my team despite being on my vacation time.
• The Director of Finance who I report to, several times while I was injured cut off or at least communicated to me that he was cutting my health insurance off. Which made it difficult for me to commit to a successful rehab program.
• To date I’m still suffering from lower back pain and unable to pick up objects due to my wrist injury.
• I then received a letter saying they have assumed I resigned my post.
• After responding to the letter that I did no such thing, I received a letter of termination.
• They agreed to pay me for 1 week, I didn’t sign.
• In a report to EI they said I was taking too long to return to work so they dismissed me though being injured.
• My wife was pregnant during the process unable to receive medication because of cutting off of the insurance policy, added stress during the period we lost our child directly tied to the stress we were experiencing.
• All of this during Christmas, some Church.
• I also have the slip and fall on video, the video was capture from surveillance video and submitted to my supervisor because the company had no incident accident report forms.
• Also my children were attending the day care at my work facilities due to my dismissal, we have been unable to find daycare and I have subsequently been home with my children.
• I have observed them violate the rights of many employees and I am interested in bringing about light on this situation.
