Ask your question and an employment lawyer in Ontario, BC or Alberta will answer in minutes
Are you aloud to be fired over a text if you are still in your 3 months probation ?
An employer can terminate an employee at any time, by any forum, without even having to provide a reason why, as long as the employee his terminated on a without cause basis and paid his or her termination entitlements.
Most employers will take the position that if an employee is terminated within the first 3 months then that employee is not entitled to any termination pay. However, this is not always the case. Unless you have an enforceable probationary clause in a written employment agreement you could still be entitled to common law severance.
