I applied for Long Term Disability on October 02-19 and was let go Oct-15-19 after 23 yyears and still don't know if I qualify for it. Would there be ground for wrongful ddismisals

If you qualified for long-term disability benefits before your termination date or during the statutory notice period thereafter (it would be 8 weeks if you are a provincially regulated employee), your termination would not impact your ability to receive long-term disability benefits.

However, I highly recommend that you consult with one of our employment lawyers so we can review the severance package offered to you (if any) and explain the interplay between severance and LTD payments, as this can be complicated to navigate on your own. Based on your length of service you are likely owed significant severance entitlements and this could be a wrongful dismissal.
