If you were employed by a bank you are likely governed by the Canada Labour Code (instead of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA)). The Canada Labour Code (CLC) sets out your minimum entitlements for severance if you are terminated without cause. However, you are likely entitled to more severance then what the CLC provides under the common law. I have copied for you below a link to our severance pay calculator which can provide you with an estimate as to your termination/severance entitlements.

The events surrounding your termination also sound quite concerning, and you could potentially be entitled to additional damages if your employer terminated you in bad faith. I highly recommend that you contact the number below to speak with one of our employment lawyers so we can more thoroughly review your entitlements.
