I got fired from missing a day at work for snow removal. Is that legal to do

As a general rule the employer is entitled to terminate you at any time and for any reason as long as you are paid out your severance entitlements. Missing a day from work generally doesn't cancel your entitlement to severance but we need to know more about your employment history and whether you notified your employer that you would be absent that day.
I recommend that you call the number below to schedule a consult with one of our employment lawyers so we can better assess your situation. In the meantime I have copied for you a link to our Severance Pay Calculator which can provide you with an estimate as to what you may be owed.
