i was recently hired as the regional manager for a company. The company had hired 800 staff in the last 12 months, to turn around and lay off 200 of those employees in the same 12 month period. This appears to me to be in bad faith. They have provided the mandatory 1 week of severance plus offered an additional 3 weeks. Does this seem reasonable?

The answer to your question depends on whether or not you have an employment contract, agreement or offer letter that limits your severance entitlements in any way. If you do not have such a term in your contract, then the company’s 1 month offer is likely insufficient.
