If I had no issues at work ever and was hired as a vacation summer relief ( and I am a student) and I was told I could have a second job can I be fired without notice, without a reason given and without ever having received any warning of anything I was doing wrong?

Thanks for your question. Employers do have the right to terminate employment without cause and without providing a reason. However, you must receive either notice or payment in lieu thereof. For most fixed term employment, the amount of notice would be equal to the amount of time remaining in the contract. Give us a call at the number below in order to find out more about your termination entitlements. We would be happy to help you in any way that we can.
