I was laid off after 11 years of service without any severance pay on September 30, 2019. I'm pretty sure the company will file for bankruptcy. Is there anything I can do to get what I deserve from them or the government?

Thanks for your question. The company is responsible for providing you with payment in lieu of notice. If the company files for bankruptcy, it will be difficult to recover what you are owed. It is therefore extremely important that you act as soon as possible in pursuing your termination entitlements. You can use our Severance Calculator (linked at the top of the page) to find out how much you could be owed and call us at the number below right away to speak to a lawyer in further detail about your situation. We would be happy to help you however we can.
