I was fired after 5 months of employment as the sous chef at Aramark (toronto French school) making a salary of 50k per year. I was terminated after I was suspended for 2 weeks with pay due to a complaint I had made to hr over harassment and racial abuse by the manager. I was told that my termination was in the best interest of the businessc and I was offered 1 week of severance pay. Can they fire me for making a harassment complaint on management? There had been no prior disciplinary actions taken against me.

They cannot terminate your employment for making a complaint against management as this constitutions a reprisal. Please contact us at the number below for a consultation with a lawyer to discuss your employment situation.
